What is a lab-grown diamond?
A lab-grown (laboratory-created) diamond is made of carbon arranged in the same crystal structure as a mined diamond, so it has the same hardness, brilliance and fire. It is grown using CVD or HPHT technology rather than formed underground.
How is it graded?
Lab-grown diamonds are graded on the same 4Cs as mined diamonds: cut, colour, clarity and carat. Independent labs such as IGI and GIA issue reports that state the stone is laboratory-grown.
How do I know it is lab-grown?
